Our E/W selection is the 2, who won well on debut at this track a month ago. With jockey Chad Schofield retaining the ride on the Maher-trained galloper, a back-to-back victory is well within reach.

For our roughie players, consider the 10. Still a maiden, he produced an impressive finish over 1200m first-up. The step up to 1400m suits, though he may benefit from even further. Worth keeping safe.”

Our each-way selection is the 6, resuming from a spell with two trials under her belt. She has a record of winning first-up, and the booking of T. Berry, who rode her at the trials, must be respected.

For a ROUGHIE, consider the 11. Opening at 51/1, he has attracted some market support. Second-up after a solid Randwick return, he could cause an upset if one is on the cards.”

If she brings her best, expect her to be fighting out the finish.

Our E/W selection is the 13, who has strung together three straight wins since resuming and heads to Victoria chasing a fourth. The booking of Craig Williams is a strong push, and any late market support should be noted.

For a roughie, consider the 8 from the Freedman stable, who flew home on this track last start. Keep safe.”

An ex-NZ galloper who has won up to 2100m, the sharp rise in trip shouldn’t pose a problem. If he’s within striking distance with a furlong to go — watch out.

Our E/W selection is the 17, who was hitting the line strongly at his most recent start. Expect a similar performance here, as he’s best ridden cold and saved for one run — keep safe.

For a roughie, consider the 18, who will look to lead and make them catch him. If he secures cheap sectionals, he’s capable of causing an upset.”
